At last week’s Los Angeles Police Commission meeting, the Board approved a $6.5 million request-for-proposals to hire private, armed security, which will not have operational, reporting or oversight requirements. The Board (including the embattled Sandra Figueroa-Villa) unanimously approved the RFP.

What could possibly go wrong with the Los Angeles Police Department having an unregulated armed militia with no civilian oversight?
