  • MONDAY, 1/29/2024 at 4:30PM – Demand Justice for #AnthonyMcClain at the Pasadena City Council Meeting on Zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/161482446 – Call in to the Pasadena City Council meeting and demand justice for #KendrecMcDade and demand the City Council fire the police officers who murdered #AnthonyMcClain.   • TUESDAY, 1/30/2024 at 6PM – Los Angeles Police Commission Meeting at LAPD HQ 100 W. 1st St. – We continue to show up and call out the LA police commission for failing to hold killer cops accountable for stealing our loved ones and stealing much needed resources away from our community.   • TUESDAY, 1/30/2024 at 6:30PM – Torrance City Council Meeting for #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell IN PERSON at Torrance City Hall 3031 Torrance Blvd. – Let’s continue demanding the Council deliver justice in the name of #ChristopherDeAndreMitchell by establishing a civilian oversight commission of the Torrance Police Department.

  • WEDNESDAY, 1/31/24 at 4PM – #EndPoliceAssociations Rally at 1313 W. 8th St. – This week’s rally is meant to take down these fake “unions” that oppose working class people at every turn. The LA Police Protective League is organized crime. Bring your voices, your energy, and your commitment to building a just and free world. Streamed live on Instagram at @blmlosangeles.

  • SATURDAY, 2/2/24 1-3PM – Black History Month Conversation and Book Signing with Dr. Gerald Horne at Center for Black Power 3423 W. 43rd Place in AfricaTown/Leimert Park – Join us this Saturday as Dr. Melina Abdullah hosts a conversation with the prolific and incomparable Dr. Gerald Horne. Presented by KPFK programs Freedom Now! and Move The Crowd as a fundraiser for the station as well as an opportunity to purchase signed copies of Dr. Horne’s new book on radicalism.   • Last Tuesday in Los Angeles, the Police Commission had its first “community meeting” since 2019 when they agreed in part to the demand set forward by BLMLA, Stop LAPD Spying Coalition, LACAN, and White People 4 Black Lives to hold meetings outside of LAPD headquarters. What actually happened on Tuesday night is that LAPD surrounded a room that they attempted to strategically fill with their “community safety partners”, including a few “pastors” who say they love having free breakfast and coffee with cops. The police apologists were countered by community members organized by Black Lives Matter-LA, White People 4 Black Lives, and Stop LAPD Spying Coalition and the families of #GrecharioMack, #JamesMincey, #WakieshaWilson and #SkyYoung. 

  • Last week, the thieves who stole Black Lives Matter’s funds, platforms and good name again attempted to pimp the work of another organization - Mapping Police Violence - citing their research that shows more people have been killed by police in 2023 than any other year on record. The “Foundation,” put that data in a fundraising email and text blast as a reason to donate to them. 

  • At last Wednesday’s #EndPoliceAssociations rally, we gathered in community to focus on fighting for what’s ours! Attorney Dermot Givens joined to share about the outrageous LAPD search and ransacking of his home as he prepares a case against them for swatting our folks. Skip Townsend of 2nd Call offered remarks about how #DefundThePolice has brought resources for intervention and prevention workers.

  • Last Saturday’s This Is Not A Drill featured a conversation on Global Black Solidarity with Palestine with Pastor Kelvin Sauls of Clergy For Black Lives and Ashley Gregory of Cal State LA’s Students for Justice in Palestine organization.
