  • TUESDAY, 2/6/2024 and 2/13/2024 at 9:30AM – Los Angeles Police Commission Meeting at LAPD HQ 100 W. 1st St. – While we celebrate that #NoMoreMoore is a reality, we also recognize that interim Chief Choi is part of the same corrupt system. A fundamental transformation of public safety, one that invests in community and divests from corrupt institutions is necessary. Join the LAPC Fails Coalition, including Black Lives Matter-LA, Stop LAPD Spying, White People 4 Black Lives, LA CAN and allies, as we show up and call out the LA Police Commission for refusing to hold killer cops accountable after they steal our loved ones and take much needed resources away from our community.   • FRIDAY, 2/16/2024 at 6:20PM – BLMLA Fundraiser at the Pan-African Film Festival, with Panel and Dessert Reception at Cinemark Baldwin Hills, 4020 Marlton Ave., Los Angeles – Special showing of the film Sing! Fight! Sing! Fight! From Leroi to Amiri on the life and work of famed poet and Black Arts Movement founder Amiri Baraka. Panel discussion to follow with legendary actor and Black Power Movement activist, Danny Glover, and radio personality and daughter of Amiri Baraka, Dominique Diprima, and dessert reception. Fundraiser tickets available for $40 (Film only $25). All proceeds to benefit Black Lives Matter-Los Angeles.

  • SUNDAY, 2/18/2024 at 7PM – BLMLA Monthly Organizing Meeting at the Center for Black Power, 3423 W. 43rd Place, Los Angeles – Let’s have a conversation about what a people’s budget can look like! Join the monthly organizing meeting to talk about how we can invest public dollars into the things that actually keep communities safe. Free hot and healthy dinner and fresh produce bags! Open to youth, elders, families, all Black folks, and non-Black allies. Donations welcome, but not required. Closed to police, press, elected officials, and haters.
